Image bank - depth:

I have chosen these pictures because they show the effects that depth can have. They also show how different the image can look depending on the angle that the picture is taken. I think the pictures I have chosen shows the range in effect that depth can have on a image. these pictures show how depth can completely alter an image. They also show the different techniques of depth. These images also appear to be 3-D due to the depth.

In these two images depth is shown through a path or tunnel. In the image above the use of the tunnel makes it appear as if theres a journey to go on. The tunnel gets smaller as to goes on which helps to get an idea of the distance between the starting point and the end of the tunnel. By showing depth in this way you can clearly see a journey of a small space but you can't actually see what is at the end of the journey. In the image below depth is shown in a wider space, this time a path way to the sea is used. In this image you can't tell how far away the sea actually is but you can tell its the end goal as its clearly visible. This use of depth gives a clearer view of the area in the picture.

In the two images above and below, blurring has been used to help to show depth. In the image above the bottles have been placed in a line at an angle to show a line of bottles progressing into a distance. The use of blurring in this image helps to make it seem as if the bottles are going into the distance. In the image below the use of the birds is able to make it appear as if they are going into the distance. The gaps in between each of the birds helps to give the distance between them, the further down the line you follow this distance becomes less and less visible. The blurred ones at the end of the view help to give the impression that they are going further and further into the distance.

In the images above and below lines are used to help to show depth. The use of lines in the image above help you to follow it along to the end of the image. The line at the very front of the photo is where you focus to see the depth, yet the small lines of the piano is what helps to give the image character. The lines help you to be able to see what the photo is as the majority of it is blurred. The image below uses lines to show the bridge progress. The straight lines in this image clearly show the bridge going of into the distance, using lines is the simplest way of doing this as its easy to follow.
